Rebecca Frank is a theatre maker, master teaching artist, and an academic teacher and administrator with over 16 years serving students from 8 months old to adulthood. She began to work professionally in film and theatre as a child, featured on tv commercials, and theatre plays - including both the Alliance Theatre and Academic Theatre in Atlanta. Frank's interest in the power of creative art making and aesthetic education began while working with high school students in New York City as part of an NYU internship. In 2004, she became a teaching artist in classrooms and after school programs with Young Audiences of Louisiana. She began to teach in the Department of Theatre and Dance at Tulane University, and through the New Orleans Shakespeare Festival's Summer High School intensives. She trained as an arts integration with Wolf Trap Performing Arts Center, focused on providing professional development in arts for early childhood, and began to create curriculum for 3-8 grade classrooms which connected arts practice to both literacy and math with Arts For Learning, a subset of Young Audiences National. During this time, Rebecca completed her MFA in directing at Tulane University, and began to teach young adults at Stella Adler Studios in New York City, while continuing to work at the Young Audiences Charter Network in New Orleans, the New Orleans Museum of Art and with professional theatre companies in New Orleans and Atlanta. In 2018, Frank moved full time to New York City to work at the new York City Charter School of the Arts. At CSA, she taught history, humanities, served as Director of the Humanities Department for 2 years, and now holds the title of Director of Arts Integration. She continues to work with Stella Adler Studios. Frank was invited to become part of the Arts in Education Leadership Cohort at Lincoln Center, and continues to expand her practice with professional development opportunities and commitment to Lincoln Center's Activate, the Kennedy Center Education, and ITAC - the International Teaching Artist Collaborative.
